Hello,

I'd like to answer the web braille question a little differently.

If you are using the computer to access the web braille on the NLS website,
you must, of course, enter your ID and password. Then you can select to
browse the online catalog option. You are then presented with various
methods for searching the catalog. I find that the Voyager option works
pretty well. The screen that comes up is very easy to navigate. You can
put in your key words or title, select only web braille books, and then
start your search. When the title list comes up, you can easily enter on
the book you choose. Then arrow to the first volume, but do not enter on
it. Instead, press the right click (with JAWS, the second button from the
right on the very top row of the keyboard). Arrow down to save target as
and press enter. This is where you download the file. The only tricky part
is, after the files are downloaded, you must change their names, because the
computer tends to add a txt extension because the brf extension is not
recognized. Just take off the .txt ending, and your files are ready to be
downloaded onto the BrailleNote.

Is this addictive? Yes!

With a smile,
Karen
