Hello Everyone,
I was wondering is someone from PDI could comment on the speed of the Ethernet
card the one specifically sold by PDI. When I got set up with my wireless
broadband service the tech support person at my ISP had me test the BN for its
speed in downloading Web pages. I went to the Web site
wwwountoastsionet I think that's the correct Web address and anyway I learned
that the BN wasn't downloading pages much faster than it would if it was using
a 56K modem connection. I was just wondering I suppose the BN does download
Web pages slower than PC's? Does the Ethernet card have anything to do with
the speed. The way my wireless broadband works is not through installing some
software onto the BN but I have an antennae unit mounted on the outside of my
apartment and connects to a unit inside which connects to my router which
connects to the Cat 5 cable which connects to the Ethernet card. The wireless
broadband seems little faster to me than when using the BN 's internal modem
to access email and the Internet. I'm not complaining about the speed just
wondering why it isn't faster. The only reason I got the wireless broadband
service was because I needed to get rid of using the phone lines since there is
always static on the phone lines here in Guam which the !
modem doesn't like. I could have gone with DSL but that would have involved
phone lines too. Cable modem ow think that's what it is called is available on
Guam but not in my village yet.
I was just curious about the speed that's all. Have a great weekend everyone.
Lisa
