Exactly my point.  The original design was that one could use the
planner as one might use an old fashioned date book, not just to
schedule appointments.
I wonder how this one got past the beta testers!

going on, but I discovered what your problem is.  You're pressing the
'enter' key right after the address.  that puts in an all day appt.,
apparently.  I have discovered that if I start writing notes after my
appointments, all is well.  I can write whatever I like.  

However, I have discovered that I can not write on a black day without
the 'all day:' thingy coming up.  You're right, this isn't good.
