Many SMTP servers require that you be connected directly and won't let you
use them from another ISP. This is done to try to cut down on spam. You
may hav3e to be completely signed onto your local ISP to send mail, even
though you can get your pop account from your home account. HTH

Subject: [Braillenote] Help with smtp.

Hi listers!

My brother George came from Sweden with his VoiceNote to Lebanon and he is
using my Lebanese dial-up connection. He has no problems receiving his
e-mails using the Swedish pop3 server but he cannot access his smtp, neither
replacing that with my Lebanese smtp solves the problem in other words, he
cannot access both. We asked some technicians here and they spoke of
changing ports and there is no such setting in the VoiceNote's directory of
services. Can anybody help?

Best regards,

Badih Zeinoun
