Hi Karen.
Yes you are missing something, but you can be forgiven, because the answer you 
are looking for is not documented in the manual: (at least I couldn't find it!)

To save a web braille page as a brf document, you press enter on the volume (as 
you have done), then once the volume is open, press space with s to save the 
document.  The bn will ask you if you want to save it inthe general folder: (I 
go ahead and hit enter, but you can change the folder at this time.)
Then the bn will present you with a file name.  When that comes up, press space 
with dots 4-6 to take your cursor to the end of the file name and type  brf 
(that's dot brf) and press enter.
