Dear Ann, To get the files to emboss well, open them with Duxbury. Turn on "view codes". Go to the very top of the file and delete all the codes.
I forgot to mention that before you open the file, make sure Duxbury is set up so the page length and width correspond to the settings you want in the file you plan to emboss. Because plain braille files won't preserve page numbering, you will need to set up Duxbury to number the pages for you. I hope these suggestions help you.
