Keith:

I seem to remember a similar problem here once.  When you enter Activesync,
hit Alt, & arrow down to Connect to activesync, go down one more to
Connections Settings.  Be sure that the first box is checked, I appologize
for not remembering exactly what it says, but it is sort of self
explanatory.

I also run windows 2000, & easily believe that gremlins can uncheck things!
