So, the, do I understand that the Modem cable that comes for a Macintosh
would plug into the serial or parallel port of the BrailleNote and then into
the Image Writer? Forgive my ignorance, but I haven't worked with anything
Apple since 1986.

The apple image writer has it's own cable. I don't know if it is a parallel
one or not. The braille 'n speak has a cable that will connect to the image
writer. This cable won't work with the bn, so I think it has it's own apple
connection.
