Good morning all,
Peter, I'm going to take the time right now to give you a mite of
eddication, as they say in some quarters. You seem to need to
understand a bit more about list management. I've been managing email
lists for the past ten years, so I think I can speak from experience.
There is a difference between a list that is completely moderated and
one that is moderated but is open so that posters can post as they
wish to do. A completely moderated list would mean that someone, not
you, would have to read and either accept or reject each and every
post on here. That would be a thankless, grueling job that *nobody*
in their right mind would want to tackle, not unless he/she had enough
monetary incentive to do so. It would take an *awful* lot of money!
This list is moderated, but it is not edited or reviewed in any way.
This is also a thankless job, but considerably easier than the first
choice. It requires patience, tact, a lot of the ability to make like
a duck and let insults run off you, and more. The listowner is the
leader, the one who says what goes. If he says stop what you're
doing, then do so. If he says quit posting in a certain way, then
quit! A good list is a benevolent monarchy. The listowner is
king/queen of the list.
Snapping at the listowner because someone sent a message to the list
by mistake is counter productive. Use your delete key, and you might
thank the listowners next time you think about them. Send good
thoughts their way. I repeat, it's a thankless, dirty job, but
somebody's got to do it. Now chill!!
