Hi Paul and Jonathan,

Perhaps those of us with quirky batteries get a slightly different response
when discharging the battery using the "I'm talking until ... etc" mode.
Paul, with mine, as with yours, when the talking has stopped (even hours later,
if I used the nighttime to do this and don't wake with the "sleep" of the bn) I
plug in my adapter and, like you, find the message "I'm talking etc" continues,
but here I have a suggestion for you which works for me. Just wait a few
moments, it may take a minute, but the talking will stop and the message
"battery test is complete" (something like that anyhow) will appear, then press
spacebar and you will get your info re how long it took, when it started and
finished.

By the way, I have followed all advice from the list and from my dealers only
to find that the discharge time, when using the drainage mode is getting less
and less, it was 8 and a half hours at first, and now, after doing it four
times, is now 8 hours and 4 mins. Plus, my power drops significantly when the
unit is turned off, no cards in and all programs closed, up to 35 % in a night,
and on average, 6 % an hour during the day, when I am not using it. Time,
then, for my friend to take another trip across the Irish sea, presumably as
the guest of PDE with all expenses covered?
Good luck Paul,
Sandy.
