Dear Lisa,

I think your student will need to send her BN in for repair.

Subject: [Braillenote] help braille display not operating

: Hi Listers,
: My student whose is a junior uses a Braillenote BT model not sure of the
keysoft version but it said something about 1998 when she did a reset on it.
Anyway the Braille display refuse to work. We have done countless resets
without holding any keys down without any results. The message that we get
when we tell the BN to have the Braille on yes the message is something
about currently Braille display not operating. I have never seen this
message before and it worries me.
: Any suggestions? Thanks. I tried exercising the Braille display and it
took the cells away but it didn't bring them back. When I try to go into
the Braille display options it always has Braille turned off. When I press
yes to turn it on The Bn beeps and says Braille display is not operating.
I have tried all 3 resets now with no help. This happened just today. My
student said she didn't drop it or anything. She said that she was in a
file and just turned it off without returning to the main menu. I didn't
think this should cause a problem. She said when this has happened before
she charges it the Braille display comes back. She said it acts up around
75 percent in the charging capacity and it works. I am completely confused
by this problem. Please help us! It appears to process everything okay just
without the Braille display.
