Hi Matt and others. A lot of these mouse-dependent tech support folks truly believe you have to run some kind of software to make their product work. Ask them is their product will work with a hand-held PC. At least you will get them to thinking out of the box, and maybe they can help you.
As others have pointed out, Earthlink is such an ISP. I get lots of calls at work from people who have been told that there computer will not run earthlink's software because they use speech. In actually, you can use their software with speech, but it's so poorly written that it's a little difficult. Many people just say "no" and use earthlink withou using the software.
