Hi Karen,

There are a lot of options one can set for braille in jfw. If you look, you
will see the braille options submenu in the jfw window beneath the menu choice
for
basics, voice etc.

There are 3 basic ways jfw can view braille: structured, line, and speechbox.
The default is structured.

There are options within structured which you can change to vary that structure.

You might wish to try speechbox and possibly line mode. Some people seem to
like one over the others.

If you don't like it you can always change it back. Also, you can turn the
braille translation on and off. I leave mine on so as to get more braille on
the short
line of the bn.

You really have to play with it to find out which mode and settings you like
best. For example, along with the translation, I turn off 8 dot braille.

When you get into the braille options menu, look for the advanced button which
will open a menu where you choose the mode of braille (structured, line,
speechbox), and most of the rest of the settings I've mentioned.

Hope this gets you started. Braille output is really wonderful!

Don

Hi, everyone,

I am experimenting with a feature of the BrailleNote that is new to me. I
have been using the BrailleNote as a Braille display with a computer. What
I'm wondering is this. Are there any options in the settings on JAWS that I
can change to make the Braille display work better? One of the things I
have noticed is that I can't seem to read everything that my computer says
on the Braille display. I'll be reading along and I come to the end of a
line of text and the computer finishes speaking the rest of the line and my
Braille display doesn't display the rest of the text on the line.
