Hi, I have not found ActiveSync to be the big problem some say it is. Yes, that initial connection can be a bear to make, but once the PC and bn get connected once, it's usually very easy to connect them again. It takes me less than a minute to connect. If you don't disable those FIFO buffers, you will probably have problems with files being truncated, but once that was done, that problem went away too. I actually find the transfer of files faster through ActiveSync. I found downloading email on the bn very slow. I haven't used the new mother board yet though. I'll try it again when my bn comes back. There are other things that the new unit can do through activesync that it can't do through email. I'll be very happy when I can copy all the files I want to transfer into one folder and have them sync automatically. Hope this helps answer your question.

We struggled more than thirty minutes to get the active sinc connection to work when my keysoft upgrade was transferred from my distributor's pc to my voicenote and when I asked why it's such an issue, he said that such hassels are normal when using active sinc. In contrast, Accept for the lack of speed, I have never had a problem to download a big email message to my vn, after I have increased the admissible email size from the default of 50k to 10000k; although, Prior to my changing of that setting, even the daily digests were to big to download. Apart from the keysoft and synchronisation programs, I was told that one is in any event not supposed to download other programs to the vn/bn.
