Your questions and trouble are confusing to me, but here is my attempt to assist you with your pop and smpt question:
When setting up the isp service, the correct way is: pop.(name of service).net or com whichever the service requires for the ending; and, for smtp it is smpt.(name of service).net or com whichever ending required by the service.
