Hi again, Chris,

If you placed anything in the Keysoft Systems Disk, never turn off the BN or
press RESET or let its batteries go flat when you're already receiving the low
battery warning, before you could move or copy those files to the Flash Disk or
some storage card. When the batteries ran down and froze, recharging and
restarting your BN was like resetting it as well, that's why you lost the stuff
you had in the Books folder.

Another situation where you should not let the batteries go flat or press RESET
or turn off the unit for whatever reason is when an operation in Keymail (i.e.,
copying, moving, or deleting a message, the point where you're waiting for the
message body to come up after pressing R or F in the E-mail Actions Menu to
reply or forward a message, the emptying of the Trash, and the deletion of any
customized folder). interrupting such an operation in any manner will corrupt
the e-mail database and you'll lose your data there, unless you have a backup
lying around somewhere.

This is true also for other databases by the way, like the Directory of
Services and the Address List, or others you may have created. Never interrupt
an operation that involves manipulating already saved data there. I said "any
operation manipulating already saved data", because interrupting an operation
like the writing of a new message, or the download of new mail from the server,
does not corrupt the database, since the information is not yet stored.

HTH,
Roselle
