I have to disagree here, having worked on both, I found that having an 18-cell was adequate for most tasks, even in the work environment, it only lacks some in using it as a computer display. I found that I could read as fast on an 18-cell as I normally read paper braille, averaging about 35 pages per hour. Of course, one consideration for me is that I read one-handed (left) so I can do other things with my dominant right hand. I love the 32 display also, but I am perfectly happy with the 18-cell too.

The 18 cell, in my humble opinion, doesn't give you enough braille at a time to really read. If you only want braille for very occasional work it might be ok but if you are using this on a job or for real braille reading 18 cells is just insufficient.
