Interestingly, Rose, I have this problem with my bn too. I had ahair appointment last week and the bn was sitting at the front desk and I could hear the alarm going off at the back of the shop. Just one bug in anotherwise magnificent machine, I'm afraid. I don't use the alarm because of this. The strange thing is that when everyoneelse had this bug in keysoft V. 3, I didn't have it but when keysoft 4 came along, it got introduced into my system and has stayed put ever since.
