Hi. Earlier this morning, I had a file with an IDV1 tag that would not
play. It locked up the Braillenote. Simply unchecking the ID tag checkbox
in Winamp's file info dialog box and retransferring the file resulted in a
file that plays. I have tried strange sample rates, and the BN always
gives me a message that the sample rate is not supported. Have you
experienced files that simply lock up the BN when attempting to play them?

Hi Doug and list:
Doug, I've tested mp3 files with no ID3 tag, ID3 tag version 1, ID3 tag
version 2 and both versions (1 and 2). the difference between the versions
is where the tag is located in the file. I've been able to play all of
these files without encountering any problems and the only time when I did
encounter a problem was when I varied the sample rate. However, I am sure
that this isn't the only facter as I've seen mp3 files play at sample rates
at which I've encoded files, without any success.
the ID3 tags can be manipulated in an audio editer such as Sound Forge.
