Hi Chris, Are you saying that you cannot find the file called Address List.cdb (for newer units) or Keylist.cdb (for units purchased more than a year ago)? That's the database file containing the records in your Address List. You did the right thing to view all, including hidden, files, so if you don't see it where you have copied the contents of the Keylist folder to your storage card, then I'm afraid you've lost it.
I don't know if you followed the "Disbelief" thread lately, which was triggered by Laura Wolk's post regarding the lost of data. Someone suggested to her to use the Copy File option in the File Manager, exactly what you used according to your message below, and I said that isn't a good idea because that doesn't always save the database files. Your case may be a timely, though unfortunate, example to support my point. When needing to make backups, ALWAYS use the Backup File option in the Utilities Menu (refer to section 14.3 for further info) because it was placed there for a purpose. When one thinks about it logically, if the Copy File option could do its job just as well, I don't think PDI would've bothered putting in that option in the Utilities Menu. That's why I was surprised to see two list members say that they use the Copy File option instead. Now, make sure you have the Address List definition file in the Keylist folder. You'll see it simply displayed as Address List (but its extension is really .klt). If it's not there, copy it from the Windows folder of the Keysoft Systems Disk. Then enter the Keylist Menu by pressing A from the Main Menu. Press A again to add a record, and you would be prompted that no database file exists, and asked if you wish to create one, so type Y for yes. You would need to start from scratch. However, if your BN is running version 5, and you have a computer running Windows, and your Contacts List in Microsoft Outlook contains the same stuff in your previous Address List database, you can use KeySync to make this task easier (refer to Appendix F of the v5.0 User's Guide). For your sake, I hope your unit is one of the newer BN's, using separate database files and not just Keylist.cdb. If it was Keylist.cdb that you lost, then you would lose not just your Address List, but also the Directory of Services and Email Folders, but I assume that from your post, this is not the situation, and that's at least better than the worst case scenario, <wink>.
