Fazil, the ridge faces down on the bt, I'm assuming it's the same on the qt.
If you put the card in when the machine is on, it will say "Card inserted."
when the card is correctly placed in the drive.
I'm not sure how the gps works, as I do not use it.
The thing to remember is that the bn can use two flashcards, or one card and
one disk drive, which also comes from pdi.
If you want to use the side slot for a storage card, you must buy an adaptor.
You can get them at Radioshack, I don't know how much they are now, as I bought
mine a long time back and can't remember the price.
I have two cards in my unit right now, and it works good for the most part.
Mine may have a little bug in it, but for now it's ok.
I think what you meant about the gps was that you had to have a card in one of
the slots before you could use it.
Like I said, I have never used a gps with my bn, so I'm not sure what all goes
with it, but from what I heard, you store maps on a compact flash card, and if
that's the case, then one of your slots will need to have the map card in it to
work on the gps.
As far as I know, you can choose which slot, but just remember to get an
adaptor if you want to use the side slot for a compact flash card.
