Riana, First, in order to replace something (one character or more) with nothing, which is equivalent to stripping that something out of the entire file, press SPACE with dots 1-2-3 (READ with T) to move to the top of the document. Press BACKSPACE with F for the Find and Replace option. Type F for the forward search. Next, type in the string you wish to delete from the file, and hit ENTER. At the Replace prompt, press SPACE with dots 3-5-6 (CTRL with BACKSPACE) to clear the field. I know you're using a VoiceNote so note that it will not say "cleared" but would repeat the prompt "Replace with?" yet would not offer anything. Then you'll know the field is blank. Hit ENTER and all the string that you typed will be stripped out of the file wherever it occurred.
You are trying to remove the greater-than signs at the start of every line, right? The greater-than sign appeared because you created the file by saving the message body of an e-mail with a quoted reply. I am quoting your message below, after my name, check out the beginning of each line. I have the separator "----- QUOTED MESSAGE -----". Starting from that line onwards, you will find at the beginning of every line, a character announced by the BN as "Reply 1". That appears as one greater-than sign when you save the e-mail to a file. If you reply to this message and quote the whole thing, my reply and your original message, the lines in my reply that you quote will start with the "Reply 1" symbol. However, the lines of your original message, if you quote it with my reply, will now begin with a "Reply 2" symbol, which is equivalent to two greater-than signs if you save the e-mail to a file. In other words, it shows the level of replying. It gets really bloody when you save such an e-mail with the "Reply 12" symbol, LOL. You would need to remove all of the greater-than signs because they are added automatically whenever a message is quoted in a reply. Note that there may be greater-than signs somewhere else in the file, not just at the start. If so, then you can search for the string that consists of a new line marker (entered by pressing SPACE with dots 2-6 or CTRL with ENTER) followed by the greater-than sign.
