Hello list,
I find I get better usatge from my battery when I use my BN for long
stretches at a time. I guess I get 15 to 20 hours of battery life if I'm
lucky, perhaps fifteen hours is more the norm. I have had my unit for over
two years now. It was sent in for the latest hardware, software
upgrades. According to my unit, the nominal available charge is
23,296. The last measured discharge is 24,832. I don't think the hours
I'm getting between charges is much different from what some of you are
getting from your newer units and batteries. I'm not certain how critical
these numbers are at this point. I presently have 92 percent on the
battery as it sat overnight. I'm certain I'll get quite a bit of use out
of my unit before it needs to be charged.

Otherwise, I am not going to get an accurate reading. But there is no way
that I am getting even 16 hours. I use the unit probably an hour a day or
so, but that is it.
I edit while I read so the amplifier is always on, still, I probably only
get five to eight hours per week, maybe ten if I use it a lot that
particular week.
Perhaps I don't get anywhere near the number of per ported hours because I
use it sporadically each day rather than for long stretches.

I would think that the cost to you for a new battery in a month old machine
would be $0.00. But the issue here, having followed this thread, is the
amount of hours used on the battery between a full charge and a `critical`
warning. Of course, we will have to wait for your measurements. If you
find that you are not getting the 20 to 25 hours specified by PDI, then you
know what the remedy is.
