10000 kilobytes (approximately 10Mb).

I'm not sure what causes either error. I can only advise you to tidy up
and delete unwanted mail (see below). Reset your unit, too - start with a
soft reset (reset alone), and progressively follow through to memory wipe
with reset and dots 4-5-6 if that don't work. Are you sure that's what
the errors were, in any case? Did they not perhaps tell you you exceeded
your limit? If so, raise the number to 10000 - that'll get rid of 'em for
some considerable time. The risk, of course, is then that you may
download entire 10 Mb messages, as when attachments are present. I'm on
ethernet, so that's not a concern, but you may not be - 3K is about the
average size of a message. 50K is the default and is way too high for
simple text (although with the crud that is HTML all over the place, I
suppose you can't make that a sure guarantee <unhappy face>); that will do
to weed out attachments, which may include Microsoft Word documents. Use
Outlook/family and see for yourself, if you can, what your average message
size is, if it is a real concern for you or if you pay for dialup by the
minute or megabyte.

Do you empty trash before you begin to free database space? If not, do
so, as free database space has absolutely no effect otherwise. To empty
trash, you can read mail from the trash folder, and use the folder action
menu to empty the trash. Now, use free database space. You'll be quite
amazed. Leave the thing alone for a bit if you must, it'll probably be
quite busy.

This random garbage in your emails is really starting to interest me now,
and I think what you've just asked has a lot to do with it. Correct me if
I'm wrong here, my understanding based on the QT may be wrong for the BT,
but is it not true that one can only use KeyMail with computer braille?
If not, then something is wrong somewhere - you're unit is spuriously
translating your grade 2 entries some of the time and not all of the time.
I could use info from other people about how and when the BT models allow
you to enter in grade 2, but I'm pretty sure it's only in a braille
document, explicitly, when grade is set to 2. Certainly, email addresses
must be entered in computer braille at the prompt. Can you type your
emails in grade 2? I certainly can't, with the home row mode - I get
choice of computer braille and qwerty.

Sounds like you're badly broke on space. The worst of it is that your
microdrive won't help you, I'm afraid - well, not immediately. KeyMail
stores its stuff on the FlashDisk. If you can move all unnecessaries
and/or large scores of big documents from the valuable flash and system
disks onto your microdrive, then give your BN a good reset, see how you
get on.

Again, it depends on you as a person and the mail you receive. 500K is
usually more than enough to accommodate any large MSWord document you
might receive, and certainly the largest of text only messages (even with
the HTML included).
