Hi Roselle,
Right now, at this very moment, my total disk size is 8065792 characters. I
still have to delete some temp files though. I should say that once, my
BrailleNote told me I had 14 megabytes free on this disk, which I knew was
inaccurate, so it could have been reporting inaccurately when it told me my
total space was around 9 megabytes. The reason I assumed this was true was
because it had been telling me this since I'd gotten my BN back from service in
December, and it's only seemed to change now, when I did a hard reset, so that
I could make sure I was telling you the right thing. I would have told you I
definitely had 9 megs, but now I'm a little confused because my numbers are
changing. In February, someone had written about a bug in KeySoft, which
caused inaccurate results to be reported as to the amount of free and total
disk space in drives larger than 1 megabyte. I asked if this was the case with
smaller drives, and I was told not, but maybe it was just a one-time thing for
me. I really don't know what's going on, but I'll check in a few days, and get
back to you on the numbers. My appologies to everyone if it does turn out that
the numbers were wrong for awhile, because I know this can be misleading.

>>>Hmmm, if Maria's post was based on what I said in my first post on this
>>>topic, where I said that the limit is about half the remaining space of the
>>>Keysoft Systems Disk, then I should clarify that this is just my estimate
>>>because I don't remember being able to play a 4MB wave file. And sometimes,
>>>a wave file I used to be able to play on the BN won't play after some time
>>>because I hadn't cleared temporary internet files yet. But as to how much
>>>space the BN really needs in the Keysoft Systems Disk in order to play the
>>>wave file, that would need some more testing which I don't really have the
>>>luxury of time to do. So, saying that the limit is about half the remaining
>>>space in the Keysoft Systems Disk should suffice as a rule of thumb.
>>>Now, Charles, I'm afraid you were not able to read my first post on this
>>>where I also mentioned the other limitations, so let me just repeat them.
>>>Aside from the size, the wave file should be of PCM audio format, 8 or 16
>>>bit (mono or stereo), and no more than 44,100 Hz. So even if the file is
>>>small enough to be played on the BN, if one of these criteria is not met, it
>>>still won't play.

>>>HTH,
>>>Roselle
