Dear List, A couple of additional settings in the BN alarm options menu might do the trick. Additional alarm options might include:
Only Speaker (Yes Or No?) Only Ear Phones (Yes Or No?) Both Speaker And Ear Phones (Yes Or No?) Silent Notification On Braille Display (Yes Or No?) this is not just an academic issue. I have taken my BN to places where an alarm would be quite inappropriate, such as a concert hall. While I just canceled the alarms for that day, it would have been better to simply set the BN to not wring through the external speaker. Thanks so much for telling me this. Perhaps, Dean might want to look into this, too. Hey, Dean, why can't the system detect earphones and just send the alarm throu them? Now Dean, I work in an office. I need to know when messages are coming in. When I have earphones on with my work system, any bells and whistles just ring in my earphones. No, I don't take my braille note to work. It's my home system, but for the people that do, is there a way to make the alarm work exclusively on earphones if they're using them? There must be a trick, turn off the external speaker or something? What do you say? Help the lady if you can.
