Hi Lisa,
Just a few quick notes to add to this post, which is all correct. From your
Braille document, you can check how many Braille pages you have by putting your
cursor at the end of your document and then pressing SPACE with dots 1-5-6.
It'll say something like "Page 9 Line 3 Column 17" which means you've written 8
full pages and are now on the 3rd line of the 9th page and the 17th column of
the 3rd line. When you've translated the document to text, follow the
procedure above to check how many print pages you have. BTW, I would suggest
translating a Braille document you've written into text if many layout matters
are concerned for the paper; do this before giving it to a professor. That
way, you'll get a direct look at the layout from the document itself as opposed
to just setting it in the Ink-Print Settings from a Braille document and hoping
they came out. When you get into your text document, press the PREVIOUS and
NEXT thumb keys together after Layout is displayed; this will bring you to a
Layout mode, which shows you all the formatting commands right on your Braille
display without you having to move your cursor around to find format
indicators. Press the thumb keys mentioned above to return to Automatic Mode,
which is the default after you have finished. As far as emailing it goes, I
would NOT suggest doing this. The minimum of formatting that won't come out is
indenting and double-spacing, but page numbers probably won't appear either.
This isn't just a BN thing, and I've experienced the same issue with regular
computers. HTH.
Maria
