Paul,
This is probably completely useless to you, but I'll just throw it in here
anyway. When I got my BN back from repairs in December and was setting up
EarthLink to work with Dial-Up Internet Service, I would get the same progress
messages as you (connected, logging on, disconnected). Initially, before I had
sent my unit in for repairs, what I had done was, in the UserName and Email
UserName fields, I had just put in the part of my email address before the "at"
sign, which, in my case, would only be maria6289 Sometime later, on my PC, my
UserName had now automatically been expanded to include my full email address.
I believe I set up my BN in April of last year with just maria6289 in both the
UserName and Email UserName fields, and I had done this on my PC, but in about
September of last year, my PC UserName field had automatically begun to read
[EMAIL PROTECTED] instead of just maria6289 I hadn't changed it, so it had
apparently been done automatically by EarthLink or whatever. Anyway, my BN
continued to work with just maria6289 in the two fields in question, so when I
got the unit back in December, I naturally put in just maria6289 assuming it
would continue to work. It didn't, but after I put in my entire email address,
"at" sign, and Earthlink.Net included, and it worked. This might help you, or
it might not, but also try Seville's suggestion below. HTH, and hope it makes
sense.
Maria
