Thanks Roselle.
I guess I would experiment a little more if this were my unit and I actually
had a copy of ks 5.
This bn came to me from the local blind center, and had nothing with it except
the case and whatever files and stuff that was already in it.
It had ks 5 and some weird problems like saying that it couldn't access the
modem country setting even when I selected the correct ones.
I still don't know really what I did to fix it, but for now it works!
Then I found some weird files in the root folder, one called "junkdddoc that's
junk. doc, which is blank, and another called "tony" with no extention and
also blank.
I don't dare erase anything, but are there any weird files like that in ks 5 on
the flash disk root folder? What can I get rid of to have as much space as
possible?
I don't see anything on the ks disk in windows called historydddat as was
pointed out by Jonathan I believe that he said it's a record of websites
created by the windows program and is not used by keysoft and can't be erased
except by a reset.
I do find a file called "history in windows with no extention and not erasable
and again blank.
It's weird, and I hope I can get my unit updated and get ks 5 installed.
Do you know if I get it installed at the factory, will pdi also send me a copy
of ks 5 incase something happens?
My old unit is a bt with classic motherboard and ks 4.1 and 3. something as
the default.
Anyway, thanks again, and if you have any comments for me on or off list, I'd
love to hear them.
happy braillenoting.
