One should always take all manuals with a grain of salt... Part of that may have come from the manual never being updated when the newer cases came along.
BTW, if I'm using the BN on my knee then I place part of tha strap under my leg so if the BN slips then it shouldn't go all the way to the floor, or where ever, of if it does then it will hit with minimal force. I speak from experience here since it has happened a ew times and I figure that has saved my BN and very likely my microdrive. I think maybe I beter be a bit more specific... When I put the part of the strap under my leg I do it so that there is only a couple of inches of slack therefore it can only slip a couple of inches. ______________________________ J. R. That's where all the trouble began. If we weren't supposed to take it out of its case, then why did the manual suggest we do so? Using the BN in its case takes up more room, and those straps are going to cause at least one accident. They'll get tangled up on something and down the BN will go.
