Hello Dan, Thanks very much for the info and I'm sure it'll help. At least it gives me some reason to go on hoping! Today I visited my local Mobistar centre and they did their best to help, although they didn't know much about dial-up connections. They were mixing up the GPRS WAP and Internet connection settings, which seems to be a common mistake. I'm still not sure why I can connect with the PC and not the BN. I've been careful to use computer braille for the phone number and have been working with speech on, just to make sure. I've found a list of worldwide GPRS parameters for the various networks, so I'll compare the settings for Cingular and Mobistar and see if I can work out a solution. I've not given up yet and I'll let you know how I get on.
