To get to these you have to change to directory mode rather than folder mode. After you enter the drive you want to look in, you do a control t on the qt to toggle into directory tree mode. I don't have the bt key equivalents in front of me at the moment. Once you locate the documents directory, look for the sportrak and command summary subdirectories in there. You will find a getting started file in the sportrak subdirectory. As for places where you can get a larger storage card, you can get a 5 Gb microdrive from several sources. I'm not current on just where they are available as I've had mine for over 18 months, but maybe someone else on the list can suggest a place to locate them. I believe IRTI might be carrying them as I seem to remember seeing one there for $229 or so. Their toll-free number is 1(800)322-4784. To look up addresses in a given area, you need to have the map for that state loaded onto the bn. I hope this makes some sense. I'm sorry for the gaps in my information right now, but I do hope it will get you headed in the right direction. Actually, the getting started is probably more relevant to the receiver itself than the actual gps system and I would strongly urge you to read the readme file in the documents folder as that really is kind of a getting started document for the gps bn. The manul keeps referring to a documents folder with a getting started folder. I do not have that folder at all. 2. I have only the 256 mg compact flash card. What is the web site for me to get a card big enough to hold more than one map at a time? 3. Confused on vertual mode explained below. a. If I want to explore a city point of interest in another state, can I only do this by using the lattitude and longitude points? Can I look the city up another way without the maps loaded for that state? b. If we are driving into another state, and I do not have maps loaded for that particular state, will the commands works for altitude, speed, city/state/zip, but not the x command for next intersection? Is that correct? 3. Summary: I really want all the ways I can explore another state or city points of interest other than by latt/long. If not possible, that is okay also. Thanks a bunch gang, Danny -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Daniel Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2004 4:51 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: RE: [Braillenote] GPS new user with questions Hi list, I just received the GPS and have a few questions below I would like explained if at all possible. 1.
