Hi Paula, It isn't a good idea to delete from the All folder, as this is just a compilation folder, and deleting from this folder many times can cause problems with your databases. When deleting emails, do this from one of your custom-created folders. I'll send you a copy of Roselle's post privately. Visit the URL appended to the bottom of this message, and you should see a link for the Archives. It's pretty self-explanatory, and resembles the Archives of any other mailing lists. You click on the link that says "BrailleNote Archives" and select the sorting link for the appropriate month. For each month, there's Thread (all emails having the same subject grouped together before moving on), Date, Author, and Subject (the last three are pretty self-explanatory). Click on the one you want. You shouldn't have a problem accessing the URL directly from KeyWeb, but if you're using your PC, just save the emails you need as files, and transfer and access them on the BN as you would any other files on the BN. These are Backing up the email database requires backing up theemail folders.cdb file in the KeyMail folder of your Flash Disk. If you just want to back up this database, may I suggest using the Copy File option in the File Manager. At the "Folder Name" prompt, hit SPACE with T (CTRL with T) to get into Directory Mode. I suggest to use Directory because it will show you "hidden" files, which is what you want here. The easiest thing to do at the "Directory Name" prompt is to type in "/keymail" (without the quotes and in Computer Braille if you're using a BT). You want the KeyMail folder of the Flash Disk, so before typing in the Directory, you can hit BACKSPACE, and at the "Drive?" prompt, hit F for Flash Disk. I'm suggesting you just type in the Directory here, as it's rather short, and it is therefore quicker than to have to step through "layers" to get to it. Alternatively, at the "Directory Name" prompt, when the Directory is only shown as a Slash, and if you're sure you're on the Flash Disk, you can hit SPACE until you get to the KeyMail sub-directory (the KeyMail Folder in Folder Mode, but it's referred to as a Sub-Directory here because this Mode allows multiple "layers" within folders, and KeyMail is one of the "layers" of the / root directory of the drive, in this case the Flash Disk). The BN will usually offer you the last Folder/Directory you used in any application of the unit, and if it isn't just the Slash sign, you can hit SPACE with dots 2-3 (CTRL with LEFT ARROW) repeatedly until it's just the Slash; if you're at the Flash Disk and Slash directory, you can hit SPACE until you get to KeyMail. Whichever method you use, hit ENTER to select it, and when you get the prompt "Directory Name? /KeyMail", just hit ENTER. At "File Name" prompt, you can typeemail folders.cdb (in Computer Braille if you've got a BT). Alternatively, hit SPACE once to access the List of All Files in this Directory, and hit SPACE with X (READ with X) once at this point to get a List of All, Including Hidden, Files. SPACE through the list until you come to the appropriate file. Hit ENTER once you've gotten to the file, whichever method you used, and hit ENTER. Select a location of which to copy the file to, and it'll be backed up. Note that you don't have to backup the KeyList Definition File for this database unless you've modified this file because the Definition file is burnt into both the KeyList Sub-Directory of the KeySoft Sub-Directory of the KeySoft System Disk and the Windows Sub-Directory of the KeySoft System Disk. If you wanted to back it up though, follow the process above, but the file you're looking for is just called Email Folders, and you won't see the COULDB extension. To restore the database, just copy it from your backup back into the KeyMail Sub-Directory of the Flash Disk. Back this up every once in a while to keep your database current. BTW, you would want to copy any Definition files you created with a customized database if you were to back up a customized database, and FYI, the Address List database file is called Address List.cdb and the definition file for it has the same name but without the COULDB extension. The same naming convention applies for the Directory of Services database (Directory of Services with and without COULDB extensions for the Database and Definition files respectively), and the Browser History's name is IEHISTORY. I hope I haven't forgotten anything, and HTH. Maria
