Hello list, I myself am not familiar with the reading edge. Having said this, my reliable sources inform me that sending text from the reading edge to the BrailleNote is possible.
As far as the BrailleNote is concerned, you need to use the "import file" option under the translation menu in the file manager. when you are asked by KeySoft which device you wish to import the file from, press s for serial. You will then be asked whether you wish to import a Braille or a text file. If you choose a text file, KeySoft will then ask if you want the file translated to Braille. You then need to specify the name of the file in which you want to capture the information being imported. Upon doing this, KeySoft will ask you if the host is ready to transmit. At this point, you need to prepare the reading edge to send the data and press y on the BrailleNote to respond to the prompt. Since I only have the cables that work with Braille and Speak, I'm not sure I can make it work with Braille Note. Since the voice in reading Edge can read without the aid of a computer, I can just scan things in and read it with reading Edge. > Now let's not give up completely. Hey, you, tech guys at Pulse data! Would there be a way to scan the text into reading Edge, correct the scanning errors, send the text to Braille Note, and have Braille Note convert that text to Grade two for Robert? I guess the question is here, can a way be found to send ascii text to Braille Note from Reading Edge after he corrected the scanning errors and then have it converted to Grade two braille by Braille Note? > > Brenda Mueller > > > ----- Original Message ----- > >From: "Robert Acosta" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >To: "Braillenote List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >Date: Mon, 29 Mar 2004 07:20:47 -0800 > >Subject: Re: [Braillenote] scannr > > >hello Brenda, > >I too have a Reading Edge. how would i scan from Reading Edge directly into > >Braille Note and get good grade 2 braille?
