Hiya Roselle,

Yeah, I delete excess stuff (such as originals, or useless ramblings in an
otherwise informative email from a Philippina) using keylist. I can't say I
ever noticed the weird character, but then again I don't think I've ever
reopened one of those msgs. Laura

>Actually, let's answer Laura's question first. I also delete stuff from a

>Now for Riana's question. You're correct in thinking that if you turn off the

>Before, you could turn off the review mode, delete some parts of that message

>character (I can't recall exactly, I think "character 689" or something) at
>the top of the message body, but at least the message itself is revised (I
>mean, the parts you deleted are no longer there). If the revised message is
>in the Inbox, and you do not move it to another folder, the other e-mails in
>the Inbox will appear to contain the revised contents of that particular

>folder. If you are in a folder other than the Inbox, the other messages would
>look weird until you delete that revised message. In other words, it was
>useless to even attempt revision.

>In version 5, you'd think the problem was fixed because the weird character is
>no longer there. You still have to exit the folder you're in and open it
>again so that the other e-mails would not contain the revised contents of that

>after exiting and re-entering that folder, the message reverts back to its
>original form. In other words, the bug isn't fixed, just... umm, revised!
>LOL!

>What then do I do to revise received messages? I access the contents of the

>suggest you do that by following these steps:

>1) Open the message you wish to edit. Press SPACE with X (READ with X) to
>turn off the Review Mode. Do the necessary revisions.

>2) Instead of exiting the message after revising, press SPACE with S (CTRL
>with S). You will be asked for the file name, but rather than typing one,
>press BACKSPACE twice to get to the drive prompt, and hit SPACE to select the

>3) You will be asked next to select the folder. SPACE through the items and

>4) At the file name prompt, press BACKSPACE with X (CTRL with X) until you
>hear "Create a Keyword text document" or whatever text file type you prefer
>(ASCII text, Microsoft Word, or Rich Text format). Then type the file name
>(no need for an extension), and press ENTER.

>5) Exit the message and either trash it or leave it in its original form in

>On the other hand, if you want to keep a revised copy in your e-mail database,

>1) Using the File Manager, copy the file Email Folders.cdb (found in the
>Keylist folder, if you view its contents with all, including hidden, files
>showing), to a storage or compact flash card, or to another folder in the
>Flash Disk. Note that I said "copy" not "move".

>2) From the Main Menu, press A for the Address List.

>3) Type S to select a different definition file.

>4) Press SPACE to enter the list of items to choose from, then BACKSPACE until
>you get to the folder prompt. SPACE through the folders offered and select
>the Keymail folder. Hit ENTER.

>5) Press SPACE to select the Email Folders definition file. Hit ENTER. You

>6) Type L for Lookup. Your VN/BN will say or display "Please wait". It may

>7) If you were patient enough, or if you only had few messages so the wait was

>8) When you've found the record for the message you wish to revise, navigate
