[Braillenote] Programs and things that work with the BrailleNote?

Hi all,

I have some questions from a friend about programs and things that work with 
the BrailleNote.
is there a way, that the BrailleNote can use a dvd player? what other
  instruments does it read now besides the disk drive and the bar code
  scanner?
