the machine and then insert? that explains all. thanks. May I stop the machine with the card in, then pop it out and then restart? And, of course, the answer was a resounding "yes." I had a card in the right-hand slot. How do you spell that? Csil? that doesn't look right. It's a five-gig micro-drive, if I recall. thanks ever so much for your help.
