Hi, Matt: Well, here's the deal.  You don't need to send your unit anywhere.  
What you do need to do, though, is buy the upgrade, which, in the US is $399.  
After you get it, you then install the product key, which is on a web site.  
After that, you can install the upgrade, which, by the way, comes on a CF card. 
 As for your other questions, I can't answer them, because I'm still running
