What probably caused it is the task-switching bug. You probably were writing a message in KeyMail, switched to another task, switched back to KeyMail to complete this message, exited KeyMail, and queued the message in the OutBox. Most likely than not, due to this bug, the message was not queued in the OutBox, yet you still received a prompt telling you that there was a message there when you then returned to the Main Menu or switched tasks.
