Robert, in the case of this folder, it doesn't.
The first time I tried erasing, it gave me a blow-by-blow account of the files it was erasing within the folder, but since then, the back space lower G method has only resulted in the BrailleNote saying: "Zero folders erased. Zero files erased. Directory is not empty." All efforts to get to the hidden file have failed miserably, despite Roger's and Rhonda's and Peggy's and Matt's very thoughtful suggestions. Am I stuck with this folder for ever, I wonder? Incidentally, and this may partly explain it, in the process of trying to erase this 1st May 2005 backup folder, I have lost twenty-two folders with about twelve million characters of books, jokes, hymns, Braille music, websites, etc., from my compact flash card. Woe is me, as they used to say six hundred years ago!!! Anyway, Robert, after all that, thanks so much for your suggestion. Warm regards, Jim Taylor.
