I just had to replace my card reader also and was able to find one easily at 
Best Buy.  My card mishap was also not the card as it worked on a laptop 
fine.  I bought a new card reader and a new flash card, but the old one is 
still going strong now.  Question I have is whether the CF (storage cards) 
ever become unusable.  I am always transferring files, erasing files, and 
putting new ones on the card.  Will I have a card that eventually will wear 
out?
