Hi, Kimberly, Now I'll step in here and say a word and then all the real techies can come along and shoot me down. But here goes: after all, it's late on a Saturday night--though early on a morning in Europe--and who knows what it is over in Australia.
Executable files have an EXE extension on them. The letters are E X E if you are using speech only. they signal that it is some sort of executable program. On my current computer system, these don't even show up in a list of the files, unless I ask for all files. I cannot tell you what's harmful, but I can tell you the exe files are programs that do things. I would imagine (though here again I'm no expert) that virus programs, when they are found, have some sort of execution that they trigger automatically. I hope you find all the books and other things that make owning a braillenote so exciting.
