Stacey, you can unzip some files on the bn, but not all. Just rename the zip extention to .bks and open it with the book reader. Make sure that you save it in a destination folder where there will be sufficient room for the decompressed file. It will prompt you for a password where you just press enter and if it was zipped in a basic format, it will most likely unzip.
You cannot zip files with the bn at present. Riana
