It is important to note that between 650, & a thousand, charges is considered excellent life for any rechargable battery, in any service, commonly used today. It is often less, the newer lithium ion devices are under 500 charges, & cost more.
Please remember that the BN isn't a cell phone, & has many complex electro-mechanical operations to perform. Eighteen months, to two years, is very realistic. Over the years, I have had experience in buying after market batteries, for a number of devices. They always have been less expensive, & usually haven't had the longevity of the original battery. The end result has been that I have spent more money, over the same length of time, for an inferior product. Those folks who have used laptops for years, can probably speak to this well. Remember, the BN is a specialty item, & performs tasks that require specific voltages, & current, which may not be standard. I think that although having a standard battery, that could be bought off the shelf, might be nice, that we won't be seeing it soon, probably never is more like it. Bruce Alexander KA1IG
