Hello Listers: At risk of repeating myself, I think a customizable brailleNote family might be a really excellent idea but I'd like to put another plug in for expanding a line of PCMCIA cards ported for these wonderful machines. This along with a more robust keysoft and the developer's kit for software applications might really put the BrailleNote family of products ahead of them all.
I mean imagine the possibilities of being able to customize your voice or braialleNote based on your professional or personal needs. You'd simply download or purchase software upgrades and or add different PCMCIA cards like wireless, cell card, USB, sound recording etc. as you needed them. And, for those on a limited budget, it would mean expandability without the hight price tag of replacing the entire unit. The advantages to PDI are obvious. Asside from the possibilities of being able to offer a more user adaptable device, more sales could be generated because more individuals could afford a $300.00 to $500.00 card rather than shelling out the $2,000.00 to $5,000.00 that an entirely new unit costs.
