Hi, I also find this useful when waiting to be picked up as you can feel the
vibrations of people approaching. You can get it down to a fine art where you
can tell the difference between soft material and eg hard timber etc. Ideal
for a deaf blind person like myself.

>Hi Diane,

>The Mowat Sensor is a small hand held device used by the blind to detect
>objects in their path. Whenever the Mowat encounters an object, it emits a
>series of vibrations. These vibrations can help a blind person locate all
>kinds of things such as tables, chairs and even doorways. If you've ever

>Mowat Sensor is no longer made.
