Dear List,

I was typing something in a room where everyone else worked in silence
and I realised that the sound of the keys are actually quite loud and
may be disturbing to others. I have a bt. The Braille-and-speaks had a
setting where one could choose to have silent keys or clicking keys when
writing.

I would like to see something done about the keys as well. I have a QT and when typing in a university class lecture setting I can hear the clicking of the keys as well. The other night in a class of about 200 people the keys were loud enough that I had to ask the girl next to me if the keyboard was annoying her. fortunately It was no problem in this case. I also notice when making lecture recordings you can really hear these keys in the recording. It would be nice to see something done about this. The couple of laptop keyboards I have looked at lately are much quieter. One of them was an Acer laptop of some kind if I am not mistaken.
