Hi to everyone, Last week I received my wireless card. I bought the ambicom from amazon, along with some textbooks I need for my class. The card was shipped first and arrived first.
Last night I had comcast install highspeed with a wireless router. After a couple of attempts I was able to get connected and go to the web. I then began downloading e-mail from my earthlink account and it did well. One observation is that e-mail downloading is somewhat slow. Maybe I'm missing something somewhere, but the first time after the card is inserted is slow. For example this afternoon it took 15 minutes to download 42 messages. It seemed to get stuck on the next message. At this point I told the BN to abandon download. The Braille Note froze and needed a reset. After this and reconnecting, the rest of the e-mail were down loaded much quicker. It seems that reset before or just after inserting the card would be beneficial. Oh, the windows 98 computer didn't cooperate and now won't work. So for the time being I'm totally dependent on my BN. Sue Mangis
