Lisa,
For local calls, The area code is sometimes required and sometimes not.
Also a 1 preceding the area code is sometimes required and sometimes not.
When you get to where you are going, try dialing the local ISP number
without and then with the area code. Put the number that works into your
directory of services.

Key in the telephone number as one long string of numbers. Do not key in
parenthesis or spaces in the number.

If you need a pause for an outside line, key in a comma where you want the
pause.
Example: 9,5551212

Sincerely,
Jerry Weinger

Subject: [Braillenote] entering local phone numbers in directory of services

Hi Listers,
It has been several months since I have had to add a record to the direct
ory of services one that requires a phone number. I cannot remember for
local phone numbers are the area codes required? If they are do they get put
in parenthesis and then a space before the rest of the number? Sorry I just
cannot remember. Thanks!
Lisa
