Mary Ellen,

First you'll have to reset by pressing that reset button.  After each email 
download session in which you've read or replied and trashed the mail, always 
make it a rule to free up your data space.  I do it every time without fail and 
haven't had to reset.  It probably won't help your current emails, but your 
future ones should have subjects.  Hope this helps.
